2Degrees Mobile (formerly NZ Communications Ltd) Celebrate 250th Cell Site in New Zealand

within the main centres of new zealand, Work has been underway for over two years on A leading edge cellular network which will offer a fresh alternative to Kiwi mobile phone users.

While erecting its own cell sites, 2Degrees Mobile has had plenty of resource consent frustrations, and construction projects have been tough to get off the ground.  With the help of Andrew.Stewart Ltd, NZ Comms has recently celebrated the erection of their 250th cell site nationwide.

2 Degrees continues to grow from strength to strength, by having:

• Network switches in the three centres
• As many employees as cell sites, 30 of whom will staff their customer call centre
• Senior managers with international experience
• A signal, which can be detected through all New Zealand cellphones 

2 Degrees, New Zealand's third mobile operator, has submitted a Voluntary Undertaking to the Commerce Commission proposing a dramatic change to the way that mobile phone companies charge each other for calls.  The Commerce Commission says phone companies need to slash the cost they charge rivals to access their mobile networks, potentially saving phone users hundreds of dollars a year.

This project is exciting news for Kiwis – as 2 Degrees are pioneering a brand new mobile phone service.
